Review: The Perfect Wife by J.P. Delaney

Summary from Goodreads:

The perfect life. The perfect love.

Abbie awakens in a daze with no memory of who she is or how she landed in this unsettling condition. The man by her side claims to be her husband. He’s a titan of the tech world, the founder of one of Silicon Valley’s most innovative start-ups. He tells Abbie that she is a gifted artist, an avid surfer, a loving mother to their young son, and the perfect wife. He says she had a terrible accident five years ago and that, through a huge technological breakthrough, she has been brought back from the abyss.

She is a miracle of science.

But as Abbie pieces together memories of her marriage, she begins questioning her husband’s motives–and his version of events. Can she trust him when he says he wants them to be together forever? And what really happened to Abbie half a decade ago?

Beware the man who calls you . . .

The Perfect Wife is another NetGalley arc that has been waiting on kindle for way too long! I knew that I needed to read this one when I discovered it was a mix between a thriller and science fiction novel.

I’ve read one other book by J.P. Delaney, Believe Me, that was just an okay read for me so I was not expecting a lot and ended up enjoy this thriller a lot. The plot pulled me in and it was worth the read.

The novel switches between the point of view of “Abbie”, an AI, and a mysterious character that introduces the reader to the past history between the human Abbie and Tim. I was hooked by the unique plot and various twists and turns the novel took up until the big reveal at the end. I did not see the ending coming at all!

I recommend checking out interesting thriller that mixes in science fiction, it was an intense read! I’ll be reading more from Delaney.
